Team Midwest Wins Silver Sticks Title

U18 Team Midwest captured the Rocky Mountain Regional Silver Sticks Tournament championship in Westminster, Colorado, October 6-9.  Team Midwest topped Ralston Valley of Arvada, Colorado, 5-1, in the championship game to earn the opportunity to compete in the International Silver Sticks Tournament, January 13-15, 2023, in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. The team is a Tier II “preseason team” made up of high school players from the Midwest Affiliate.

The team is coached by Larry Heggebo, Zach Gruhn, and Eric Wisnousky.

In Pool Play TMW goes 2-1-1

Game 1 vs Ralston Valley, TMW came out with the WIN 2-1. 
with goals from Jase Stranbrough of DM Caps. Assists from Nate Solma, Grant Harder (SC Metros) and Jackson Webb (DM Caps) and Michael Chase (OJL). Jaden Salado was in Net with 30 saves on 31 shots.

Game 2 vs Monarch the game ended in a tie 1-1
with a goal from Nate Solma of SC Metros - no assist.
Jaden Salado was in Net again with 36 saves on 37 shots.

Game 3 vs Stadley Lake; TMW came out with the WIN 3-1.
with goals from Quinton Clausen III of Lincoln Jr Stars, Jase Stanbrough of DM Caps, and Nate Solma from SC Metros.
Assists from Wyatt Pink (Ames), Gavin Flattery (DM Caps), Caleb Caldwell (KC Jets).
Jacob Broadfoot was in Net with 30 saves on 31 shots.

Game 4 vs Chaparral TM fell 2-1
Goal by Grant Harder from SC Metros, with an assist from Caleb Caldwell (KC Jets).
Jacob Broadfoot was in Net with 23 saves on 25 shots.

Game 1 TMW WINS over Chaparral 8-1!

Jaden Salado also was awarded MVP of the entire tournament.

TMW is the Rocky Mountain Regional Silver Sticks Champion 2022. The team now has an opportunity to compete at the INTERNATIONAL Silver Sticks tournament Jan 13-15, 2023, in Sarnia, ON, Canada.

It has been a great pre-season with all the players and coaches.
